Mandarin Chinese Faculty

The World Languages Department is currently seeking candidates for a Mandarin Chinese teaching position for the 2021-2022 school year.  Our ideal candidate is a relational and passionate language teacher with several years of experience in teaching both middle school and high school students. This position requires native or advanced-level proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, and the candidate must be fluent in English.  Primary duties may include teaching in the Middle School and the Upper School and acting as an advisor to a small group of students.  

The ideal candidate works well in both departmental and grade-level teams, relates well to students, parents, and colleagues, and has a growth mindset. Knowledge of the ACTFL Proficiency Standards and experience working with standards-based grading would be helpful, but are not required. Additional subject-area teaching expertise is also of interest.

A Bachelor’s degree is requisite, and a Master’s degree is preferred. Candidates are required to have legal work authorization in North Carolina/The United States.
