Science Teacher - Middle School

Maryvale Preparatory School is seeking a full-time Middle School Science Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. The position is an exempt, full-time, 10^th month position. Experience teaching middle school is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record focusing on an inquiry-based approach in middle school teaching with experience and successfully pass a criminal background check. This position will report directly to the Middle School Head.

Responsibilities include:

• Possibly teach General Science 6 and Life Science 7. Ability to teach an upper school science course is a plus.
• Possibly serve as an advisor in the Student Advisory Program
• Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred; MSDE certification preferred
• Experience working in an independent school setting preferred
• Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents
