The marketing function is a key role within Cambridge Associates' Global Business Development group, which is responsible for growing, developing, and retaining the firm's client base.
The Associate Director, Regional Marketing (Asia) will be a critical member of the private client marketing strategy team at CA. Reporting to the associate director of strategic marketing for the private client practice (with a dotted line to the local business development director), this individual will be a lead contributor to region-specific marketing efforts for the firm's private client practice in Asia. The primary focus of the Associate Director is to collaborate with key internal partners in both the U.S. and Asia to develop, produce and maintain high-impact, targeted marketing programs that support the private client practice's goals of increasing brand awareness and qualified leads in Southeast Asia (from the firm's bases in Singapore, Hong Kong and China). The position will independently manage specific marketing programs and functions, including market positioning, communications and content creation, referral/lead generation strategies, events, conference engagement, digital marketing, and market research. The position will also be responsible for managing public relations and social media efforts in the regions, including overseeing relationships with in-regions PR/communications agencies.
This position requires significant collaboration with strategic marketing team members, the private client practice leadership, investment directors, business development colleagues, and other CA colleagues. It requires strong project management, interpersonal and communications skills, analytical ability and solid attention to detail. Knowledge of private wealth management segments and markets, and understanding of local market needs and preferences is preferred. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support the growth of CA's private client business in Asia and provide local market expertise in building out actionable and effective marketing plans for Asia
Understand, champion and partner closely with strategic marketing, business development, and investment teams to develop Asia-specific marketing plan in line with business goals
Establish a deep understanding of in-region target segments by researching and assessing example personas, existing clients, segment opportunities and issues, and related competitors
Assist in planning and delivery of global campaigns across the marketing mix in Asia; act as a partner to marketing colleagues in the U.S. in all distribution initiatives
Develop and support Asia-specific marketing initiatives together with local communications agencies and internal partners
Evaluate event and sponsorship opportunities for opportunities to drive brand awareness or lead generation in region
Plan and execute events and sponsored conferences, advertising initiatives and local adaptations of global marketing documents, newsletters and social posts related to Asia-specific initiatives
Facilitate translations (using outside vendor) when necessary, and review translated content
Identify and onboard region-specific social tools
Until local PR staff is hired, assist our local agency with media relations by identifying and cultivating relationships with key reporters; assist with spokesperson prep before interviews
Measure and report on the success of marketing initiatives with objective to provide marketing intelligence and suggestions for improving effectiveness of marketing programs
5-7 years of experience in the investment industry, preferably in a marketing environment
Knowledge of family office and/or private wealth markets
Sound strategic mindset, including understanding of SE Asian markets, concepts and practices, and ability to further key marketing goals and messages through program management
Ability to work independently and in a supervisory capacity with local colleagues, and collaboratively with global marketing team across other offices
Very strong writing skills, and the ability to think both strategically and creatively
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, which includes the ability to be a team player and partner effectively with others in a team-oriented (and virtual, cross time zone) environment
Strong project management and organizational abilities, and high degree of detail orientation
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize responsibilities
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); marketing/analytical software knowledge preferred (CRMs, email marketing tools, web analytics platforms, local social platforms)
Basic understanding of capital markets and key investment terms
Fluent in Mandarin and English required
Must be eligible to work in Singapore without sponsorship
