Location: Hyde Park Campus Job Description: Job Summary: Â Â Â The Computer Science Department is responsible for the computer science education of students in grades K through twelve. Computer science classes are taught in the schools' computer labs; at other times the labs are open for use by students, faculty, and staff. The computer labs contain Apple computers that are managed by department members for curricular needs. Responsibilities:Â - Develop curriculum for and teach computer science classes across divisions as required.
- Working collaboratively with classroom teachers and working together with other members of the Computer Science Department to develop and maintain a cohesive curriculum sequence from grades K-12;Â advocating for computer science education in K-12.Â
- Passionate about the difference between mastery of devices and in-depth knowledge about computers and computing.
- Serve as a high school advisor.
- Full-time teachers are expected to work a 40-hour week and the required number of days as stipulated in the Faculty Association contract.Â
- All teachers are expected to perform in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- The anticipated start date for this position is 9/1/21.

Education, Experience, or Certifications: Education:       - Bachelorâ™s degree in computer science, educational computing or related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Coursework or degree that reflects multicultural content preferred.Â
 Experience:    - At least two years of teaching experience.
- At least two years of experience teaching computer science in a K-12 environment.
- Working knowledge developing curriculum preferred.
- Background working with a wide range of students with diverse backgrounds such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, learning abilities, class, language, and nationality.Â
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:Â - Move in and around the classroom/building to interact with students, faculty, staff, parents, and other members of the community.
- Move class-related equipment/tools, as appropriate, around school property.
- When appropriate, escort children from one classroom to another, in and out of the building during arrival and dismissal, and in an emergency situation.
