Middle School Mathematics Teacher

Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Middle School Mathematics Teacher. We seek an enthusiastic and committed teacher with knowledge of and practice in constructivist teaching methods, varied assessment methods and tools, and student-centered, interdisciplinary pedagogy.  The ideal candidate will exhibit a passion for teaching mathematics; a love for learning and working with students, families, and colleagues; professionalism; and a sense of humor.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Teaching: 

• Teach a total of 4 sections of middle school mathematics
• Work with students on an individual basis, as need be
• Keep accurate grades, effectively and supportively communicate with students and families, and provide written and oral feedback on student progress consistently throughout the school year

Additional Responsibilities: 

• Serve as an advisor to a group of 7-10 students
• Co-advise a club or activity and engage in supervision duties
• Demonstrate energetic commitment to professional development
• Attend and contribute to meetings during and after the school day, including but not limited to departmental, committee, divisional and grade-level meetings
• Attend community events throughout the school year
