The Ethel Walker School is seeking an Assistant Head of School, Dean of Academics to begin in July of 2021. Serving as a member of the senior administrative team and a direct report to the Head of School, the primary purpose of this position is to direct and expand Walker’s rigorous and outstanding academic program. This position oversees the ongoing assessment, improvement and innovation of the curriculum and instruction, working with the Dean of Faculty on faculty evaluation, while serving as a resource to teachers and academic administrators, including the Head of the Middle School in pursuit of these aims. The Assistant Head of School, Dean of Academics also will oversee academic stewardship and programmatic assessment, teaming with the Dean of Faculty to expand professional development initiatives, teacher support in the classroom and supervision of Department Chairs as well as the teaching faculty. Direct reports to the Assistant Head of School, Dean of Academics will include the Department Chairs, the Academic Support Coordinator, the Registrar, the Dean of Digital and Library Services, the Dean of Students, Counseling and Wellness, and the Director of Athletics.
