High School IB Upper Level Math Teacher

The successful candidate will:

• Enjoy working within a vibrant and collaborative Mathematics department and work together with students, colleagues, the administrative team, parents/community, and work independently.
• Have experience teaching IB DP Mathematics 
• Be comfortable teaching skills including critical problem solving, questioning, and researching
• Be comfortable teaching students with varying levels of interest and experience in Mathematics
• Connect well and feel at ease with both middle and high school students
• Have the ability to design and facilitate rigorous, empowering lesson plans that are student-centered and thought-provoking
• Have intellectual curiosity and a desire to spark a love of learning in students
• Be dedicated to meeting the needs of diverse student learners and must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse students, teachers, families, and communities.  
• Have a genuine appreciation of adolescents, a sense of humor, and the ability to work well within a collaborative environment
• Have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Experience with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme is welcome, but not required.

MCDS middle and high school faculty expectations:

• Teach a standard class load of a minimum of four sections
• Serve as either a middle or high school advisor. 
• Participate in one extracurricular each school year
• Weekly duty assignments
