2021-22 Opening: Upper School History Teacher
St. Luke's School
St. Luke’s School seeks an experienced full-time teacher to join our Upper School History Department. A successful candidate will join a team of passionate and enthusiastic teachers who bring history to life for students, love teaching and learning, and relish being a joyful presence in the lives of teens. At this moment, History teachers stand at a critical juncture in educating young people to understand and navigate the political, economic and social contexts in which we all live. We seek a colleague who understands their classroom role as mentor and coach to be every bit as crucial as content expert; who enthusiastically advocates for critical reading, reflection, and research as the tools of responsible students and citizens; and who embraces opportunities for difficult conversations about race, class, gender, sexuality, religious liberty, etc. in and out of the classroom. Candidates with experience teaching interdisciplinary courses, an expertise in a particular region of Global History, and/or a strong interest in the histories of underrepresented communities and identities are strongly encouraged to apply.
