JOB SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to lead, direct and carry out strategic and tactical implementation of HSE (Health Safety and Environmental) and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance related programs. This role provides strategic oversight on all HSE and ESG platform matters across all of Property Management Americas, acting as an advisor to the business in order to support the needs of the clients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Develops, implements and manages HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) and ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and the needs of a client portfolio(s).
- Oversees HSE and ESG plans, playbooks, processes and procedures for a Divisional area of responsibility. Ensures plans and playbooks are current, complete and effectively implemented. Develops, recommend preventative and improvement measures to ensure the enhancement of related programs. Champion client and internal CBRE efforts, programs and initiatives related to HSE and ESG.
This includes standardization, technical leadership and enhancing the performance of all related HSE and ESG systems throughout the managed properties. Evaluates new and existing programs to assess suitability and the need for changes. - Identify and prioritize initiatives based on an evaluation of their life cycle cost and/ or ability to enhance the client reputation. Carries out broad and complex assignments requiring comprehensive knowledge related to HSE and ESG services offered by CBRE
- Works with the internal CBRE teams to assist in the development and implementation of client's Social responsibility programs for both internal and external sustainability communications. Maintain a library of industry research and provide internal reports on ESG trends.
- Provides strategic and technical leadership as a Subject Matter Expert HSE and ESG. Provides direct and timely counsel and information to management for the client portfolios, market area, or geographical region in matters pertaining to procedures, implementation, compliance, trends, performance and concerns. As SME, supports input for new client programs / projects to ensure proper implementation.
- Monitors HSE and ESG related regulatory compliance within the Divisional area of responsibility. Timely communicates all findings, concerns and deficiencies to the responsible management team and ensures that issues, concerns and deficiencies are corrected. Develops and implements strategic solutions that will support management's efforts to improve and maintain compliance as required. Manages and oversees the interactions with government agencies, professional groups, community advisory panels, and all related internal activities
- Acts as a liaison with key related teams within CBRE in HSE and ESG related programs such as LEED certification, reporting & analytics, carbon footprint, etc, to ensure a consistent approach within CBRE standards. Act as a thought leader to help drive strategy, initiatives, and programs across all of the Global Property Management Organization as well as other HSE and ESG teams across CBRE.
- Responsible for leading the Environmental, Social & Governance team to implement new technologies, identify cost savings opportunities, manage initiatives and engage the CBRE platform team on issues related to energy procurement and energy-related capital projects, renewable/carbon and critical environments.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or university Minimum of eight years of related experience and/or training. Minimum six years of managerial experience preferred. Experience working in facility maintenance and property management.
- Direct work experience interacting with regulatory agencies and/or compliance officers is required.
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental and energy sustainability related regulations is required.
- Demonstrated strength in ESG program management. Working knowledge of ESG issues, scoring, processes and external relationships/reporting requirements/data disclosures. Knowledge of regulatory and legislative policy affecting ESG issues. Subject matter expert on ESG reporting and disclosures with strong understanding of the role of ESG data.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES - CEM required.
- PE and LEED accreditation preferred.
- As required by local authority (if required): Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) - Preferred
