A unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing School of Professional and Continuing Studies at Fordham. The Associate Dean helps the Dean implement the strategic vision for PCS and ensures full compliance with University and PCS policies. The successful candidate will be charged with redesigning, implementing, and overseeing the entire student support function across PCS at all campuses, from students’ matriculation into their respective programs all the way through graduation.
Oversees the Academic Advising function including responsibility for personally advising incoming and continuing students
Oversees and resolves student-related issues including disciplinary proceedings and other items that may involve close collaboration with other schools and departments (e.g., Title IX) at Fordham
Liaise with the Associate Dean for Administration regarding day-to-day operations at Lincoln Center
Represents PCS at events and on various School and University Committees as needed
Directly supervises Assistant Deans and other administrative staff ensuring that they serve as the School's referral unit for students facing issues that require immediate attention (crises).
Formulates and implements school policies, procedures, and protocols under the direction from the Dean
Master's Degree in Education or a related field required. A strong preference will be given to candidates who possess a terminal degree.
Minimum of ten years of progressive experience in higher education administration that includes significant experience with administering academic advising and student-facing functions at the University level.
Familiarity with planning, directing, and managing undergraduate and graduate programs.
Experience with educational technologies, methods of delivery, and instructional formats.
Knowledge of university systems.
Strong work initiative, task-oriented with the ability to achieve results independently.
Must have excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build consensus.
Extensive experience building and maintaining relationships with faculty, students, and other stakeholders.
While this position is based out of Lincoln Center, intercampus and light travel is required.
