About the Opportunity: The Assistant Director will design and implement an effective recruitment strategy within a specified domestic travel territory, and will evaluate applicants for admission into the University. The Assistant Director's recruitment strategy will include travel in assigned territories designed to attract and subsequently enroll freshman and transfer students in line with university priorities. Responsibilities: Further responsibilities include counseling and advising students and families regarding the admission process, conducting interviews and presentations, maintaining relationships with secondary school and transfer counselors, alumni admission volunteers, and managing their territory throughout the admission cycle. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for coordinating and managing specific constituent relationships or projects in addition to other duties as assigned. A successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, who actively contributes to the office welfare in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Master degree preferred. One to three years of experience in student recruitment and secondary/college admission required. Admission counseling experience including recruitment programming, travel scheduling, student counseling, application evaluation, and presenting before small and large groups also required. Proven ability to work independently, excellent communication and presentation skills, sensitivity and responsiveness to the needs of diverse constituents is desirable, along with strong organizational skills. Valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record, and the ability to lift 30 pounds in order to move recruitment materials.
