Upper School Science Teacher 

Tandem Friends School, a co-ed, Quaker, 5th-12th grade independent day school in Charlottesville, Virginia, seeks an experienced, full-time Upper School Science teacher for the 2021-22 school year.

We seek an experienced science teacher with a background in curricular and pedagogical innovation. Ideal candidates will be both capable of and comfortable with teaching students of a wide range of age, maturity and ability levels and have experience teaching an array of science courses ideally including Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, and/or Physics.

Tandem Friends seeks teachers who bring diverse skills and knowledge, a willingness to learn new things, and an appreciation for collaboration with students. At TFS, all teachers are active community members who share in the general support and care of the school community, serve as student advisors, and participate in community service and overnight trips among other activities. Responsibilities for this position also include collaboration and participation in a school-wide science department and facilitation of STEM-related co-curricular activities.
