Middle and High School Social-Emotional Coordinator

New England Innovation Academy seeks an inspiring middle and high school Social-Emotional Coordinator, who will create and sustain the vision, direction and implementation of mental health and counseling services at NEIA. Successful candidates will have a strong clinical background including proven experience providing comprehensive mental health services and psychoeducational outreach to students with a diverse range of identities in a school setting. Reporting to the Dean of Community Life, the Social-Emotional Coordinator will serve as a thought partner and collaborator to the Learning Support Coordinator in the creation of the NEIA Wellness Center, the execution of the formal wellbeing curriculum, and other initiatives, and to the Dean of Faculty and faculty advisors concerning student mental health, and other social-emotional support matters. The Social-Emotional Coordinator serves as a member of the faculty. Faculty at NEIA encourage collaborative teamwork in the classroom, teaching students to communicate effectively and thoughtfully, justify their reasoning, and consider multiple perspectives when solving problems. Faculty invest in the life of the school by participating in the advisory program, social and emotional learning, weekly department meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings, anti-bias training, residential life when we include boarding students, and any and all aspects that support the student experience. Faculty are responsible for creating and maintaining a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential and accomplish the learning goals of NEIA. This 10-month, full-time faculty position begins in August 2021. The founding faculty will also be compensated additionally for fleshing out the curriculum and program for up to two weeks in July.
