ABOUT US: Oregon Episcopal School occupies a wooded 59 acre campus where 880 students in Pre-K through 12th Grade share an excellent faculty, an inquiry based curriculum, and a strong sense of community. JOB SUMMARY: The Middle School performing arts teacher designs and delivers a creative, student-centered, and inquiry-driven curriculum for grades 6-8, culminating in student-created original and adapted plays as larger ensembles with full production at every grade level. In addition to performance-specific skills, the teacher will guide students in their exploration of foundational technical theater skills including stage design, costuming, lighting, sound design and digital tools to create and enhance an intentional performance context. This individual teaches courses at each grade level of approximately 18-20 students. Other faculty responsibilities include being an advisor to a small group of students and occasional supervisory and chaperoning duties. The teacher is expected to be skilled in facilitating project-based learning guiding students to learn through inquiry and discovery.
