Doane Academy seeks a full-time teacher of middle school science and S.T.E.A.M. beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year.
The specific responsibilities are teaching one section of each of the following courses:
6th grade integrated science
7th grade integrated science
8th grade integrated science
6th, 7th, and 8th grade Programming and Robotics (one trimester each)
In addition to the classroom responsibilities, teachers are Doane serve as advisors to small groups of students and often take on the responsibility of overseeing clubs or other extracurricular activities. The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Experience with teaching middle school science courses including Earth Science, Life Science, and Physical Science.
BA with major in sciences, BS, or BSE degree required; masters degree preferred.
Experience with technology integration and coding strongly preferred.
Experience teaching in a remote learning environment is a plus.
Experience with S.T.E.A.M. curriculum and/or involvement with extracurricular S.T.E.A.M. activities is a plus.
