Doane Academy seeks a full-time teacher of upper school History beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year.  The specific teaching responsibilities will be dependent on the candidate’s background and interests, as well as the specific needs of the department.  Doane Academy’s student body is unusually diverse and teachers at our school are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

In addition to the classroom responsibilities, teachers are Doane serve as advisors to small groups of students and often take on the responsibility of overseeing clubs or other extracurricular activities.  Interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume to George Sanderson, Head of School, at [email protected]

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Experience with teaching upper school History classes including World History required.
  • BA degree required; masters degree preferred.
  • Experience with technology integration strongly preferred.
  • Experience teaching in a remote learning environment is a plus.
  • Background in teaching non-American and non-Western history courses strongly preferred.
  • Candidates should have enthusiasm for joining an entrepreneurial, collegial, enthusiastic, innovative, fun group of professionals who are committed to innovative, transformative teaching.
