SEC Reporting Manager

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for quarterly and annual external financial reporting to the SEC, quarterly earnings releases, investor presentations, other regulatory reporting and technical accounting research, implementation and disclosures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drives the external SEC financial reporting process, including preparation of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K and 11-K and other financial reporting and governmental statutory reporting, as required.
Collaborates with the Controllership regarding their outputs from international consolidation and reporting, the closing process, and other financial controls
Collaborates with stakeholders across the Company's businesses, functions, and regions as necessary to resolve accounting and reporting issues
Interfaces with internal and external auditors regarding SEC reporting issues
Participates in the earnings release process including preparation of earnings release tables and supporting narrative documentation.
Identifies, resolves and reviews issues affecting the Company's reporting compliance
Assists with monitoring, assessing, communicating and implementing changes in SEC and GAAP accounting and disclosure rules and regulations which may have an impact on the company's filings.
Develops solutions to complex accounting and reporting issues.
Assists with other financial-related projects as necessary.
Subject matter expert in accounting for equity-based compensation, weighted average shares outstanding (WASO) and EPS.
Manages accounting for stock-based compensation for compliance with ASC 718, including valuation and expense recognition through collaboration with the company's legal and human resources departments and external advisors.
Responsible for maintaining and coordinating the SOX risk and control matrix for equity-based compensation, WASO, EPS, and the external SEC reporting processes.
Coordinates quarterly SOX certification process and summarize results for senior leadership.
Serves as the liaison with the Tax Department for all financial reporting needs.
Completes SEC and GAAP disclosure checklists for each filing, as applicable, to ensure compliance.
Coordinates and reviews XBRL tagging as needed.
Works with external auditors and prepare documentation to support audit requests.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES May provide formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. Requires a minimum 7 to 8 years of relevant experience, including public accounting experience and work with global companies with international operations. CPA a plus. Experience in SEC financial reporting on Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K and 11-K. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
CPA or MBA (graduate degree) preferred, but not required (depending on experience). COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to apply excellent written and verbal communication skills to accurately explain/report activity. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to efficiently provide timely and reliable information to coworkers in a courteous manner. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues and work collaboratively with key employees, top management, and other departments on various projects. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGERequires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports. Broad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), concepts. SEC reporting experience required. REASONING ABILITY Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex financial information and transactions and accounting principles. Ability to independently research complex accounting transactions/issues. Ability to problem-solve, both independently and working as a team. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES Strong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.). Broad experience with other software and financial systems such as Oracle, Workiva, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, Equity Methods, Active Disclosure and Audit Board experience is desired and are pluses. Knowledge of real estate service industry and terminology is helpful. External and internal audit/SOX compliance. Overall understanding and experience in application of GAAP and SEC financial reporting requirements including financial statements and financial statement footnotes. Self-motivated, strong work ethic and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong analytical and problem resolution skills, including the ability to research and simplify complex situations. Ability to interface with all levels of the organization to collect information and drive resolution. Must be detail-oriented, have a proactive approach and the ability to work with cross-functional teams. Must be able to effectively manage and prioritize critical deadlines. Ability to work in a team environment. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
