2021-22 Opening: Upper School History Teaching Fellow
St. Luke's School

At this moment, History teachers stand at a critical juncture in educating young people to understand and navigate the political, economic and social contexts in which we all live. We seek a colleague who views their classroom role as mentor and coach to be every bit as crucial as content expert; who enthusiastically advocates for critical reading, reflection, and research as the tools of responsible students and citizens; and who embraces opportunities for difficult conversations about race, class, gender, sexuality, religious liberty, etc. in and out of the classroom. Teaching Fellows are typically entering their first year in the education profession, and at St. Luke’s work with both the department chair and a mentor administrator to learn the craft of teaching.
