DESCRIPTIONUnder the general supervision of the Director of Sponsored Projects, the Sponsored Research Administrator will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial analysis and complex fiscal management in both pre and post-award sponsored projects administration for multiple divisions in the Department of Pediatrics, with approximately $8 million in sponsored project funding sources. Each division's financial management involves multiple PI's and funding sources (federal, state, private grants including contracts, gifts, clinical trials, subawards, fellowships, service agreements, and UC Foundation funds). The incumbent will work with numerous funding agencies including, but not limited to NIH, DOD, AHA, ADA, CIRM, JDRF, and other various state, county, private and industry sponsors. The incumbent will independently work with multiple international and domestic institutions as well as a variety of central offices such as OCGA, OCTA, HSSPPO, OPAFS, HHR, ARC, IPPS, etc. The incumbent will also serve as the department contact for the assigned Division Chiefs and PIs. In coordination with the Director of Sponsored Projects, the incumbent will be responsible for establishing new procedures and/or revising existing procedures to meet changing needs and creating a variety of intricate internal reporting systems and tools for forecasting short and long term financial planning, identifying problem areas, formulating creative and alternative solutions and making recommendations for a wide variety of financial and administrative issues. Under general supervision, develops and/or oversees research proposals, awards and/or transactions related to contract and grant management and maintains contract and grant records in compliance with institutional and research sponsor policies. Works on proposals of moderate scope such as single investigator NSF proposals where analysis of financial information or reports requires review of a variety of factors (e.g. budgets, salaries, expenses, etc.). Receives assignments on project basis and fully analyzes problems, gathers data and information, and recommends solutions. May be eligible for delegated signature authority. Completes and approves transactions for signature by manager or other authorized institutional official. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
