Program Manager

Position Summary Reporting to the Managing Director of the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise, and working closely with the Center's faculty, staff and students, the Program Manager is responsible for managing the Tamer Fund for Social Ventures, including liaising with social venture teams, the Center's network of mentors and advisors, social venture incubators, alumni, investment board members, impact investors, and relevant groups across campus. The Program Manager will play an active role in planning and executing social entrepreneurship programming for the Columbia University community, and for the Center's advisor and mentor network. This person will also assist with managing the Climate Change and Business Program and social enterprise courses, working with Center and School staff and faculty members. Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required. Two to three years of related experience required. Master's degree an advantage. Must have a diplomatic approach and possess outstanding interpersonal, communication, writing and networking skills. Must possess knowledge, enthusiasm and commitment to social enterprise, including climate change and business initiatives, and service orientation to social entrepreneurs. Ability to interact effectively with external social entrepreneurship networks, and sustainability groups across the University and externally. Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Must be highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while operating in a team-based environment. Cultural sensitivity required. Should be willing to work evenings when necessary. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge or experience in areas within social enterprise including social entrepreneurship, public and nonprofit management, climate change and sustainability, international development, or other related areas highly recommended. Knowledge of key social enterprise and climate change networks and social venture organizations a plus. Experience working with networks of experts and advisors preferred.
