Hargrave Military Academy
Hargrave is now accepting applications for Instructor to support its Grade 7, 8, 9 (Center for Integrated Studies, CIS) Academic Program.
Hargrave Military Academy is a boarding/day school servicing boys in the grades 7 to 13 (middle to high school to post-grad). We strive to provide the finest academics in a boarding school utilizing a military structure. Providing an academically challenging and personalized instruction for every cadet is a Hargrave tradition stretching back to our founding in 1909. A Hargrave education is not limited to academic pursuits, but empasses a whole-person development model supported by the pillars of academics, character, spiritual growth and athletics/fitness. Our focus is on meeting each student’s specific needs within the framework of a college preparatory environment. Hargrave is a community and a family of instructors, administrators, parents and mentors all working jointly to provide an environment conducive to learning, growing and enabling students to reach their full potential. Our mission is to build young men into leaders of character prepared for lifelong success. This includes a vision of moving onto college as they become knowledgeable, thinking, and responsible citizens of their community, nation, and world. The strength of the CIS Academic component includes limited class sizes, a passionate faculty, utilizing technology and collaborative activities, interdisciplinary projects, year-long thematic instruction, cohort or student learning groups, and a structured learning environment that understands the needs of the younger adolescent male within the mission and vision of Hargrave. Students take Core Courses (language arts, science, cultural studies) taught by CIS instructors and their cohort group. Math and elective courses in character development (as part of the Colin Powell Program for Leadership and Ethics), fine arts, and modern languages are selected according to individual needs.

Faculty/Staff Handbook: The Hargrave Military Academy Employee Handbook and Faculty/Staff Handbook contains the school’s academic procedures, classroom regulations, personnel policy, and faculty guidelines that govern all Hargrave Military Academy employees and is considered by the administration a part of all job descriptions.
