Middle School Academic Support Coordinator

Berwick Academy has an opening for a Middle School Academic Support Coordinator.  This position will begin in the 2021-22 school year.

The Middle School Academic Support Coordinator (ASC) reports to the Middle School Director and is a member of the Wellness Team.  The ASC supports middle school students (5-8) with learning strategies, executive functioning skill development, and individual instruction, and also serves as a resource for faculty and families.  

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small-group support/instruction for students, both in push-in and pull-out environments.
• Make regular observations and report on student achievement and progress.
• Attend Parent-Teacher meetings to discuss student progress and identify action plans.
• Meet with individual parents as necessary to discuss the progress of their children.
• Read and summarize all psychoeducational evaluations for middle school students and for Admissions, as necessary.
• Create dynamic, individual Academic Support Plans that will target the student’s specific learning needs.
• Counsel families on academic support and assessment accommodations.
• Support faculty by offering resources, assistance, advice, and training to enable faculty to better meet the needs of all students.
• Develop and maintain communication and documentation protocols related to academic support.
• Actively engage in all Middle School Grade Level meetings.
• Coordinate information shared between the school and outside specialists.
• Coordinate the tutoring of middle school students on campus.  
• Serve as a member of the Middle School Faculty and Advisor.
• Attend Wellness Team meetings and events.
