The Senior Corporate Engagement Advisor is a member of the Corporate Engagement team in External Affairs, who will focus on Natural Climate Solutions (NCS).  The preferred location is Arlington, VA (DC Metro Area); however, the location could be flexible.

The Senior Corporate Engagement Advisor develops and implements strategies for engaging companies; coordinates and conducts outreach to companies related to NCS; manages and supports specific NCS corporate engagements; supports TNC Global Field Programs in the development of new NCS projects, and conducts analysis on behalf of and contributes to the Corporate Engagement team’s functional priorities.

• Expand TNC’s participation in NCS by developing relationships and working effectively with corporate and other external partners.
• Serve as relationship manager to specific corporations and support NCS engagements.
• With a team, design and manage major meetings, including gatherings of corporate, government, and non-governmental representatives.
• Conduct research, with minimum support, to inform the Corporate Engagement team’s NCS strategy and activities.
• Demonstrate strong communications and presentation skills.  Able to prepare and present NCS project proposals and negotiate with external parties.
• Persuasively convey the mission of TNC to diverse groups who are critical to the Conservancy’s overall strategies.
• May supervise administrative and professional staff with responsibility for performance management, training and development.
• May include fundraising activities.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and external requirements.
• Financial responsibility may include working within/managing a budget to complete projects, negotiating and contracting with vendors, and assisting with budget development.
• Responsible for meeting departmental strategic goals and objectives.
• Communicates professionally with a wide variety of people from different cultures.
• Works in partnership with other organizations in a collaborative and consultative or advisory capacity.
• Ensures program compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
• Effectively directs and or participates in complex negotiations.
• Develops constructive and effective working relationships inside and outside the Conservancy.
