Staff Physician

The Student Health Center (SHC) at New York University (NYU) is a dynamic health care service that supports the well-being and academic success of over 60,000 students studying all over the world. The SHC near Washington Square is our main facility for medical services and houses Primary Care, Women’s Health, Medical Specialties, Radiology, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy and more. This site is also home to and integrated with Counseling and Wellness, one of the most robust college mental health services in the U.S.

Primary Care comprises two parallel services: appointment-based care and urgent care. Our 14 providers in Primary Care work in both settings. Our staff includes a Registered Dietitian, HIV Counselor, and Care Manager. Our service is run by an excellent team of RNs and MAs.

The SHC is designed around the needs of NYU students. Clinical demands ebb and flow with the academic calendar. Success at SHC is not defined by productivity and income generation. We have an in-house Quality Improvement team that sets targets that really matter and we are highly responsive to patient feedback. Required Education:
M.D. or D.O. degree, Board Certified or Board Eligible in either Internal Medicine, Med/Peds, Family Medicine or related discipline. BLS certification.

Required Experience:
2 years minimum experience as a Physician.

Preferred Experience:
Experience working in a Primary Care setting with a diverse, young adult population and/or Student Health Practice setting preferred.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
NY State medical license. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
