Nursing and Health Professions Laboratory Manager

This is a full-time,12-month position in the Division of Nursing and Health Professions. The Nursing & Health Professions Laboratory Manager manages the skill laboratory including multimedia resources. The Lab Manager is responsible for: ordering and maintaining supplies that are needed to run the skills laboratory, and participates in student remediation, evaluation, make up labs, and graduate outreach program. The Lab Manager assists with the recruitment of staff and students, and serves as student evaluator in the clinical setting.

Duties:

1. Participates in the remediation, tutoring, and evaluation of students.
2. Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies, adhering to safety standards.
3. Has primary responsibility for stocking and preparing the laboratory for instruction.
4. Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing of the skill lab.
5. Assists with the recruitment and retention of students on campus and in the community, including monthly information sessions.
6. Monitors compliance with safety practices, and regulatory agencies, as needed.
7. Assists with the receipt and distribution of laboratory materials.
8. Utilizes instructional methods that promote the development of critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making that contribute towards clinical competency.
9. May be required to participate in the clinical setting as a primary or secondary instructor.
10. Acts as advisor for the Student Nurses Organization.
11. Collaborates with division faculty and staff.
12. Participates in College and community events, which may include evenings and weekends. 
13. Performs other duties, as assigned.
