![]() Director of Admissions 499623 - Previous Applicants Need Not Apply Position Type: Staff Position Number: 20112052 Department: Enrollment Services Job Summary/Basic Function: Job Summary: The Director of Admissions is responsible for providing leadership and daily supervision of the entire admissions staff, recruitment operations, as well as off campus admission events. Accountable for meeting or exceeding budget enrollment goals. The Director is responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating undergraduate and graduate recruitment and admission activities for Lamar University. Working with colleagues across enrollment management, the director supervises the Associate Director(s) of Admission, both in recruitment and operations, and the activity of all admission counselors and processors. In addition, this position will oversee processing for Lamar Institute of Technology. Job Responsibilities: Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications, Skills and abilities: Bachelors degree and five years of progressively responsible admissions, recruitment and/or financial aid experience required. Masters degree preferred Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate and supervise a team of diverse individuals, including young early-career professionals Excellent public speaking and written communication skills Balance as a mentor and manager who can set professional development priorities while establishing expectations and accountability for success. Ability to roll up their sleeves and dig in at all levels of admission and enrollment Demonstrated ability to work with CRM or relational database program preferred Demonstrated organizational and planning skills Proven experience in developing systems and strategies and making data-driven decisions Preferred Qualifications: Security Sensitive Statement: This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
