The Foster School of Business, MBA Program Office, has an outstanding opportunity for a Student Services Manager.
The Student Services Manager’s primary function will be to develop and execute program advising, services, events, and activities to support and enhance the overall student experience for the Full-time and Evening MBA programs. This position will work closely with key stakeholders across the Foster School of Business to build an inclusive, welcoming community for MBA students. This position will report to the Director of Student Affairs for the Full-time MBA program.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Academic Advising: •Advise students on curriculum options and assist in creating an educational and co-curricular plan to achieving goals, including, but not limited to, academic progress, academic program policies to guide them in making appropriate choices and decisions. •Manage and administer the academic advising of the Management Science (STEM) degree option. •Identify, administer and deliver resources within and outside of the program to assist students with academic performance.
Inclusive Community: •With the Director of Student Affairs for the Full-time MBA program develop, oversee, and evaluate the overall production of student affairs programs to continue to build an inclusive community. •Create experiences for Full-time MBA students that nurture a sense of belonging and overall student wellness. •Support Full-time MBA orientation by assisting with logistics and attending day-of events. •Administer academic, social, and wellbeing workshop series and events planned by the MBA Association, and the MBA Programs Office; track all event offerings, execute on logistics, and track attendance metrics. •Execute on key tasks for the annual Foster Graduation Reception and Ceremony; and serve as day-of event staff member.
Student Leadership and Development: •Provide leadership and continuity to MBA student clubs. Serve as a primary advisor to a subset of clubs regarding partnerships across campus, alumni and business connections, and the use of University facilities. •Plan and execute training sessions with student organizations on university resources, policies, and programs. •Create systems and structures to facilitate leadership and development growth.
Pre MBA and Communication Administration: •Contribute to the MBA admitted and current student website, Canvas page, and general communications. •Manage and write newsletters, including Foster, UW and program office announcements for current MBA students. •Assist with the transition of students from admitted student status to current student status. •Support international students in transitioning to the US, UW, and Foster School of Business.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: •Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field. •3 years’ experience in a professional or graduate school student services program or experience working in an office setting •Demonstrated strong interpersonal communications skills •Project management and/or event coordination experience a must •Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum requirements.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: •Master's Degree in Education or related field •Experience with academic advising and event management. •Experience using UW systems such as MyGrad and SDB, or other similar university systems highly preferred •Experience working with diverse student populations •Strong organizational skills, with a particularly focus on prioritizing tasks, time management, and follow-through •Strong technological skills and experience with multiple software platforms, including degree audit systems, student information systems, and customer relationship management systems.
