Admissions Director

The Director of Admissions works under the supervision of the Head of School and serves as the ambassador to the community in promoting Christian education and interpreting the school’s educational and lifestyle philosophy. This job requires summer hours be maintained.

1. Admissions:

• Oversees all admission applications, re-enrollment process and related materials noting any potential flags for Admissions Committee.
• Coordinate paperwork and data entry of all new students.
• Schedule tours and student shadowing.
• Coordinate admission testing for applicants where needed.
• Interview or work with PreK Director and principals to schedule interviews of parents for applicants, grades PreK-12.
• Coordinate student interviews with Principals.
• In conjunction with the Admission Committee (Principals and Head of School), ascertain whether or not each applicant meets MJCA's admission requirements.
• Notify each applicant's parents of the committee's decision.
• Create and edit enrollment and application documents within school information system for upcoming admission season.
• Keep accurate admission and enrollment records and generate necessary reports.
• Coordinate the yearly update and printing of admission materials.
• Maintain enrollment at levels set by the Head of School/Board.
• Develop an efficient tracking system to monitor candidate files.
• Maintain class counts & statistical info.
• Mark Kindergarten, 6^th and 9^th grades in appropriate substatus within SIS.
• Coordinate enrollment dates and activities to include hosting Preview Nights and Coffee with Head of School.
• Create admissions related forms & update as necessary.
• Create all new cumulative files, scan records and upload to student portfolio in SIS.
• Organizing and maintaining records for all students with special circumstances such as court records, medical issues, and accommodations.  Inform administration and teachers of all such students.
• Ensuring student records are maintained as per state, federal, and local regulations.
• Give school tours to potential families.
• Create/maintain spreadsheet of withdrawals and reason for leaving.
• Create/maintain spreadsheet of new families and reasons that brought them to MJCA

2. Open House:

• Work with Communications Director to create advertisements to invite prospective families.
• Work with Communications Director to create, have printed and mail invitations to prospective students from database.
• Coordinate program and presenters.
• Work with PTO for providing refreshments.
• Make signage and print materials needed.

3. Coffee With HOS:

• Work with Communications Director to design email invitation to new MJCA families.
• Coordinate location and refreshments.
• Follow up as needed with families.

4. Office and Miscellaneous:

• Attend Leadership Team meetings.
• Be an on-going liaison between new families and school.
• Complete surveys related to admissions & school statistical info.
• Assist the guidance counselor in maintaining student records, placing proper flags on student files that need them.
• Maintain comprehensive records and reports as needed and/or requested.
• Other duties as assigned by the HOS’s office.
