Trinity Valley School is seeking a full-time history teacher to join the Upper School faculty beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.
The History Department at Trinity Valley School:
The history department at Trinity Valley School seeks applicants who bring passion for teaching history; eagerness to build meaningful, caring relationships with adolescents; and enthusiasm for professional learning and growth. The department is a team of creative instructional designers who utilize a range of pedagogical techniques designed to further develop students’ critical-thinking and analytical skills through the study of the past.
TVS welcomes candidates who are capable and comfortable teaching history courses across the Upper School curriculum. TVS graduation requirements ask tenth grade students to choose history electives; therefore, candidates should be enthusiastic about designing electives that would complement the robust set of offerings.
TVS appreciates that teaching excellence comes in many forms. Above all, the school seeks candidates who love working with young people and place students at the heart of their instructional practice. TVS welcomes candidates who are both comfortable serving as advisors to groups of 10-15 Upper School students and also willing to engage in campus life through coaching, volunteering with Trojan Outdoor Experience (TOE), and/or engagement with co-curricular programs.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
The ideal candidate will
Hold a master's degree in history or related field (master’s preferred; not required).
Have teaching experience in history, ideally in independent
Have the ability to teach any grade level of history required; experience in teaching World History a plus.
Have experience and interest in developing innovative uses of technology in the history classroom as well as comfort with their administrative
