Field Technician - (Farm Operations) (2002882) - Leland, MS

Formula for Success: You Will...

• Manage the farming operations of the Mid-South Breeding/Trait Development Station;
• Provide technical support for research, development, crop protection and breeding trials conducted at the Mid-South Breeding/Trait Development Station;
• Proper operation and maintenance of Mid-South Breeding/Trait Development Station equipment;
• Assist in planting and harvesting of trials conducted on the Mid-South Breeding/Trait Development Station and off-station locations as necessary;
• Coordination of crop maintenance with pest control advisor;
• Ensure compliance with all Government, BASF Regulatory, MyQ, BioSafety and Stewardship guidelines;
• Supervise summer interns including vacation scheduling and daily activities;
• Serve as the Site Safety Coordinator to ensure completion of trainings and adherence to EHS policies

Qualifications

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our CORE values. More specifically related to this position, BASF Corporation seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma with 8 years' experience, Associates degree with 6 years' experience or BS degree with 4 years' experience in an agriculturally related field (agronomy, plant biology, crop production, etc.);
• Self-motivated, capable of working individually and completing tasks without direct Supervision;
• Strong organizational skills, interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment;
• Problem solving skills must include scheduling of multiple tasks and data management;
• Basic knowledge of computer software and communication tools;
• Strong agronomy background with knowledge of farm equipment and it's operation;
• Capable of performing the task of small plot spraying and other physically demanding field activities
