Application Review Date The First Review Date for this job is: January 21, 2020 Departmental Overview The Prestigious Scholarships Program, housed within the Office of Undergraduate Research & Scholarships (OURS), was created in 1997 to serve as the campus' central clearinghouse for information on externallyfunded, merit-based scholarships. In addition, the office administers the application and campus nomination process for a number of prestigious national awards, such as the Rhodes, Marshall, Knight-Hennessy, and Truman Scholarships. The office mission is to support students from across the University in their applications for nationally and internationally competitive scholarships. The office raises campus-wide awareness of these fellowship opportunities and works individually with students to produce competitive applications through directed one-on-one advising and support. Reporting directly to the Prestigious Scholars Manager (Student Services Advisor 4), the Prestigious Scholarship Coordinator plays a key role in promoting funding opportunities for students and in supporting students as they apply for these scholarship opportunities. The Coordinator should possess a wide-ranging intellectual curiosity and a commitment to working with high ability students. The Scholarships coordinator also assists in student recruitment, promotion efforts, outreach, conducting workshops, application support, providing individual advising, and other activities that support UCB students' pursuit of nationally competitive fellowships and scholarships. This position applies professional student services concepts to support undergraduates who seek scholarship funding. Provides varied student services to students, faculty, and department/school/college management. Assists with the recruitment of applicants/alumni, selection, program events/workshops, and evaluation. Works on moderately complex issues. Receives assistance on more complex issues from the Prestigious Scholarships Manager and Advisor (Student Services Advisor 4). As a staff member of OURS, the position may include additional responsibilities as assigned to meet the needs of students and to support the academic mission of the University. This includes; (1) Collaborating with the OURS team to provide comprehensive support for students with the OURS affiliated programs; (2) Conducting presentations that support students exploring external undergraduate research opportunities; and (3) assisting OURS staff with office-wide events such as the annual Research & Scholarships Fair, Cal Day, etc Responsibilities

Salary & Benefits This position is a non-exempt, bi-weekly paid position. Hourly pay for this role is commensurate with experience.
