Mitchell Hamline School of Law
Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, the Academic Advisors will have primary responsibility to provide academic guidance to students regarding graduation requirements and to monitor student progress. Essential Responsibilities: Student Advising
Provide support for on-campus Preparation and Capstone weeks
Qualifications: bachelor's degree in education or related field and 3-5 years of previous experience advising students (may consider combination of education and experience); strong interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge of higher education policies and procedures; ability to work with confidential and sensitive matters; ability to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team; effective listening and counseling skills; excellent organizational, time-management skills; and ability to work a flexible work schedule that includes weekends and evenings, particularly during preparation, capstone, orientation, and commencement weeks.
