Internal Job Number: P04121UF Description: The College of Education invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 9-month, fixed-term Instructor position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Dean. This primary purpose of this instructor position is to foster critical thinking, advance student's knowledge and skills through the teaching of discipline/courses. The incumbent is expected to provide an intellectual foundation for students concerning the major program area. The courses serve students in degree programs and provide enrichment experiences for both majors and non-majors. This position is responsible for developing and teaching courses in the Teaching Major, Bachelor of Science degree, Option in Clinically Based Elementary Education (CBEE) program. The program Instructor delivers courses and supports development of courses that model the use of current research, equity and social justice within course design and facilitation. This instructor also promotes cross-cultural communication and collaboration for diverse learners. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): Typically requires Master’s degree in discipline appropriate to the field of teaching/instructional tasks. Requirements : Master's Degree in major program area or a closely related field. Current or previous teaching license. Three to five years' K-12 teaching experience in U.S. public schools. A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. Demonstrated experience learning and applying technology to teaching coursework. Experience working independently, Demonstrated excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Type: This position will be mostly remote with travel to locations within Oregon to teach hybrid courses a few times each term.
