River Oaks Baptist School is seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to join our team as a middle school mathematics teacher beginning August 2021. A successful candidate will have experience and be comfortable teaching mathematics content—pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry—to students in grades 5 – 8. The ideal candidate will understand Everyday Mathematics; have a passion for curriculum and Mind, Brain, and Education Science research; and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of how to teach mathematics on a conceptual and developmentally appropriate level. This position reports to the Head of Middle School. All middle school faculty are supported by an experienced divisional team devoted to developing both students and faculty, including the Instructional Coach, Counselor, Learning Specialist, Department Head, Assistant Head of Middle School, Head of Middle School, and Associate Head of School for Academics. A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 24 hours in math and 12 hours of educational courses OR teaching certification for math and for the grade-level applying
At least two years’ full-time teaching experience
A desire to work in a Christian environment
Successful completion of background checks and verification
