Tenure-Track Position in Counseling

The successful candidate will serve as a counseling professor at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary (a graduate division of the University) which includes teaching six graduate level courses (on-ground and/or online) on an annual basis, servicing student advisees, providing administrative supervision to a portion of the counseling internships and practicums, contributing to assessment projects within the division, attending divisional and full-faculty meetings, and serving on at least two committees.

Candidates shall possess a completed doctoral degree in Counselor Education, preferably from a CACREP accredited institution, or have a related doctoral degree and have been employed as full-time faculty in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 2013 (CACREP 2016 Standards). Candidates must also be a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPS) in the state of Michigan (or be eligible to obtain the counseling license in the state of Michigan), have supervision certification, evidence of successful counseling practice, be a team player with honorable relational skills, and exhibit a genuine Christian faith commitment and theological alignment with the Cornerstone Confession. Preference will be given to candidates with formal theological education, teaching experience both on-ground and online, and prior experience in the supervision of counseling interns.
