Professional Job Family: Administrative Professional - Not OT Eligible Position Number: 200303 Position Details: Summary of Duties: This position serves as the area financial, accounting and budget officer responsible for the direction, planning, projections, and oversight of financial functions and personnel at WSU Vancouver. Responsible for ensuring stewardship of resources, compliance with applicable state and federal regulations as well as campus and institutional guidelines. In addition, this position oversees and manages the accounting staff of 5 people. Position serves as the principal consultant and advisor to the area heads on a wide range of management issues. Establishes and implements short and long range financial and accountability measures. Monthly Salary: Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience FTE: 100% Position Term in months: 12 months Required Qualifications: Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a related administrative, business, liberal arts, or social sciences discipline and five (5) years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Additional Requirements: Experience in detailed accounting and financial reporting including computerized management of financial records. Demonstrated ability to utilize and develop budget templates and databases using software programs such as Excel, Word and Access. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in accounting or relevant field. CPA or other relevant license/certification. Experience with fund accounting. Familiarity with sponsored projects and financial procedures. Familiarity with WSU or other higher education institution financial policies & procedures.
