Director of Legal

My client, a global leading financial services organization is looking to make the hire of a Director of Legal to contribute on strategic decisions and advise on wide range of legal matters in relation to their activities around the globe. If you are a Dutch Qualified Lawyer, currently as a Head / Chief Legal Officer or Senior Legal Advisor, and looking for an exciting challenge leading a team, this is a wonderful opportunity for you!

As a Director of Legal, you will:

• Be responsible for all business legal matters in multi jurisdictions and global business environments
• Report directly to the CEO and manage a team of 5 Legal Managers
• Provide critical guidance and legal advice to the Group Board Members across global business units
• Align legal and business strategies, develop and manage annual legal plans and budgets
• Keep the company aware of legal risk & compliance issues, and maintain corporate governance matters
• Manage all relationships with both internal and external legal stakeholders, regulators and auditors

As Director of Legal, you should have:

• Minimum of 15 years of experience at a Financial Institution or a Global Law Firm
• Currently working as a Head / Chief Legal Officer / General Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel, management experience is essential
• Advanced knowledge in Trade & Commodities Transaction, Commercial Lending, Financial & Capital Markets Law
• Experience in an international environment, regulatory topics and complex cooperation and business transaction agreements
• Business fluent in Dutch & English with strong communication and negotiation skills
