Senior International Scholar Advisor US-NY-New York Job ID: 2020-7522 Type: Office of the Vice Chancellor, University Life and Global Programs (WS1024) # of Openings: 1 Category: Student Services/Athletics New York University Overview Deliver immigration services for foreign national faculty, researchers, scholars, staff, and their dependents. Serve as subject matter and regulatory expert on the following visa types: H-1B, O-1, E-3, TN petitions and particularly permanent residence applications. Assemble and file said petitions and applications. Advise and review more complex cases and immigration matters with other advisors, supervisors and/or outside counsel. Ensure compliance with all United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and Department of Labor (DOL) regulations, while also advocating for members of the University international community. Serve as a backup Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) to the University's Exchange Visitor Program for international faculty, researchers, and visiting scholars. Manage relevant databases as well as the internal and external reporting mechanism. In addition, advise on employment, travel and community resources. Train academic department administrators. Administer and coordinate Office of Global Services (OGS) cross-cultural programs. Support the communication efforts of the International Faculty and Research Scholar Services advising team.
