The Director of Solutions Architecture will lead the organization to drive excellence in designing solutions that meet the needs of our Public Sector clients. By becoming the trusted technical advisor for Public Sector – Federal, State, Local, and Education clients – the team will act as the design authority for internal and external stakeholders creating multi-tower solutions and creating the supporting design artifacts. This organization will maintain the highest level of technical certifications and advanced knowledge and understanding of all Verizon services and technologies and how they integrate into a complete solution.
The primary responsibilities of the Director are to:
Ensure thorough understanding of customer needs to deliver a technical design that addresses the customer’s requirements
Lead solution definition and design with Verizon, partners, and clients
Ensure the team is able to demonstrate Verizon’s solution differentiation and advantages and position themselves as thought leaders on technology design
Ensure the team is delivering timely, compelling, and comprehensive solutions to the customer and to downstream organizations
Create interlock with the product organization to ensure repeatable and customer driven solutions
Develop the team’s professional skill-set and expand product knowledge to maximize value; this includes ensuring that the team attains and maintains designated certifications with continuous reviews of technical literature
Conduct workforce planning and forecasting to ensure the correct force to load to achieve sales result and to ensure implementation and delivery of designed solution meets the objectives of the Public Sector client
Ensure design reviews are conducted upon completion of solution implementation to collect lessons learned and design improvements and incorporate into reference architecture database
Achieve performance results based on the needs of each customer segment
What we’re looking for...
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or 6 or more years of technical work experience designing systems or networks
Five or more years in a customer facing leadership role with accountability for end to end delivery, such as Program Management or Enterprise Architecture
Five or more years of experience delivering customer presentations and preparing customer-facing material, such as RFP responses, proactive proposals and network/system designs
Successful track record in technology solution sales or program management leadership
Financial analysis experience, such as P&L, ROI, cost analysis, business case development
Demonstrated curiosity with technical white papers showcasing a builder/creator mindset
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Even better if you have:
Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent level degree
Government integrator experience
Experience in sales or program management of Government customers
A clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance
