Position:
SPA seeks candidates for the position of Upper School Mathematics teacher.  This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teaching professional to collaborate towards shaping and growing a dynamic program. 

Position Begins: mid-August 2021
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Department: Instructional Faculty, Upper School

Position Description: 

Successful candidates should demonstrate the ability to create developmentally appropriate curricula, establish a supportive and engaging classroom environment for students, differentiate to meet the needs of all students and work collaboratively with colleagues and parents/guardians.

As importantly, we seek a candidate who has a demonstrated passion for working with young people and who will approach their role as an advisor with a drive to better understand the emotional needs of their students and support a program where self-reflection, empathy, and flexibility are the goals. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Candidates should support the mission of SPA, the vision of the Upper School, and be eager to join a professional community where collaboration is valued and where openness to growth is the norm.

Requirements: 

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field (master's degree is preferred) and should have experience teaching upper-level mathematics, with the ability to teach classes that range from Algebra I through Calculus and Statistics.
