| DESCRIPTIONDirects the activities of an integrated hardware/software systems designfunction. Designs and develops electronic, electro- mechanical equipmentor systems-oriented products, and prepares related installation,operation, and maintenance specifications and instructions. Conductsfeasibility studies on engineering proposals and related technical datafor assigning new equipment or modifying existing equipment. Collectsoperational data and prepares customer application information.Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficientoperation of the function.JOB COMPLEXITYWorks on issues of moderate scope where analysis of situation or datarequires review of relevant factors. Exercises judgment within definedprocedures and policies to determine appropriate action.SUPERVISIONProvides direct supervision to professional individual contributorsand/or skilled support individual contributors. Acts as advisor to teamand may become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules andresolve problems.EXPERIENCETypically requires a minimum of 2 years management experience.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLDeveloping supervisory expertise. Applies company policies andprocedures to resolve variety of issues.SCOPEReceives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and theprocess by which to meet goals. Provides direction to employeesaccording to established policies and management guidance. Administerscompany policies that directly affect subordinate employees. Managementreviews work to measure objective obtainment.INTERACTIONFrequently interacts with subordinates/peers and customers to gaincooperation of others or conduct presentations of technical informationor project activities.
