Dean of Students for Inclusion and Advocacy Student Affairs Founded in 1850, Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) is an independent, residential, Liberal Arts University with roughly 1,600 students. The University’s Division of Student Affairs invites applications for the full-time position of Dean of Students for Inclusion and Advocacy. This position serves a critical student advocacy and support role for all students. The Dean leads diversity and inclusion initiatives by supervising the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Multifaith Engagement, sexual assault prevention education and awareness programs and serves as a key leader in the University Council on Diversity (UCD). With retention in mind, the Dean provides a support and advocacy network for students and parents by responding to individual crises, coordinating withdrawals/leaves of absence, and leading the Student Success Team. Staff members within Student Affairs are expected to practice principles of social justice and inclusion in working in an office that serves students from different racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, and who have various sexual orientations, gender identities, and ability statuses.
