DESCRIPTIONThe University of California San Diego Rady School of Management provides business education through its PhD program, Masters degree programs, undergraduate minors and courses, and executive business seminars. The Rady School's values are excellence, innovation, collaboration and integrity. The staff who work at the Rady School have created a highly participatory, high energy, upbeat environment where providing excellent customer service to our students and our faculty is a priority. The Director of the Rady Career Development Center is responsible for the management, strategic planning, implementation, and development of all aspects of career-related services and programming for Rady School of Management graduate students including multiple Rady MBA programs, a Masters of Finance program, multiple Master of Science programs in Business Analytics, the Master of Professional Accountancy and other graduate business degree programs. Two key responsibilities of this position are to develop new long term business relationships with employers to secure internship and employment opportunities for our students and to provide professional management of and partnership with a robust staff of 6 professional career advisors, 2 administrative staff, as well as independent contractors and part-time staff. The Director sets objectives and plans strategies designed to provide the Rady School with the capability to provide internship, employment, and career planning to its consistent with a nationally ranked top-tier graduate business program. In addition to overseeing the management of staff, operations and budget of the Rady Career Development Center, the Director holds a small portfolio of graduate business students for professional career advising, maintains an active schedule of personal outreach to employers, and works as a team with our Director of Corporate Partners, Director of Graduate Recruitment and Admissions, Director of Graduate Student Affairs, and the faculty and executive directors of our graduate programs to ensure alignment with Rady's strategic goals. The Director promotes a positive, productive, student-focused work environment, collaborates with staff on policy and process improvements and the use of technology, balances workload, sets clear and reasonable performance standards, and ensures staff have the training and resources needed. Importantly, the position serves as the expert on reporting employment data based on the revered, national MBA CSEA standards related to graduate business degree programs (MBA Career Services and Employer Alliance/MBA CSEA). These data responsibilities include interpretation and teaching of standards to Rady faculty, leadership, and staff as well as planning and directing data collection, analysis, and reporting of this data. The integrity and timeliness of the employment data is all-important to the Rady School's reputation due to the data's impact on national rankings of graduate business programs. QUALIFICATIONS
