Associate Director- College of Medicine Admissions

JobSummary/Essential Job Functions: Under the direction of the AssistantDean for Admissions - College of Medicine (COM), this position develops anddirects pre-matriculation programs and services that help recruit highlyqualified and diverse applicants to the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program. Thisposition also conducts day-to-day administrative functions that are essentialto the operations of the Office of Admissions and to the College's Committee onAdmissions.

1. Manages processing of 2500 incoming medical student applications in coordination with the admissions office and AMCAS/Information Technology Services (ITS) developers.
2. Ensures timely review of applications and coordinates interview schedules.
3. Helps formulate training modules for faculty to use during the interviewing process.
4. Assists with the selection and admission of incoming MD, MD/PhD, and transfer students to the College of Medicine.
5. Collaborates with Offices of Student Affairs and Development to identify student awards and scholarships
6. Advises potential applicants on admission standards and requirements for M.D. program and other special programs.
7. Collaborates with the Offices of Student Affairs and Development to identify student awards and scholarship opportunities.
8. Coordinates information technology needs, website development, recruitment and marketing materials, and handbooks.
9. Generates comprehensive year-end statistical reports for distribution to administration.
10. Collaborates with the Assistant Dean for Admissions to plan on campus visits, fairs-both virtual and physical, the annual 2nd Look Day, and other recruitment events.
11. Serves as a liaison to premedical advisors at various college/universities to ensure awareness of admissions requirements/standards and the college's educational and other special programs.
12. Serves as initial contact with prospective students who call, email, and/or come to the Office of Admissions seeking assistance and triages requests to appropriate resources, if necessary.
13. Coordinates New Student Orientation, in collaboration with the Assistant Dean for Admissions, the Office of Student Affairs, and the Office of Medical Education.
14. Trains new Admissions Committee members, student ambassadors, and student recruiters.
15. Performs other related duties, as required.
