![]() Student Financial Aid Advisor 5444BR Enrollment Management Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships Professional Area: Employment Category: Fulltime Staff Job Function: Wage Band: Department/College Description RIT's Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships assists students and their families in identifying sources of financial aid to help meet the cost of a quality education. Detailed Job Description Under direction of the Director of Operations and Client Services the Student Financial Aid Advisor serves as the first point of contact for students, families, and outside constituents regarding federal, state and RIT/NTID financial aid programs and financing options. Contact includes in-person, on the telephone, via live chat and through email communications. Guidance is provided on the financial aid application process, meeting deadlines and the explanation of supplementary required documentation. Collect, scan, and complete an initial check on all documents received in the office in the secure document Uploader and the prospective student Appeal Uploader. Requires the handling of sensitive, confidential, and personally identifiable information. Review citizenship documentation and make judgments on student federal aid eligibility. Provide assistance to students and families in understanding Student Financial Services monthly billing statements. The Student Financial Aid Advisor works very closely with other administrative and academic departments to ensure exemplary customer service, practices and compliance. RIT, as an institutional member of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administers (NASFAA) requires all members to exemplify the highest level of ethical behavior and demonstrate the highest level of professionalism by following the Statement of Ethical Principles.
