Stanford's top-ranking Medical Center Development (MCD) team continues to build upon the generous support of its donor community, and is in the early stages of planning the next major fundraising effort in which Stanford Medicine will have newly-defined philanthropic priorities in alignment with the Stanford University-wide strategic vision. We anticipate fundraising around groundbreaking initiatives such as the Innovative Medicines Accelerator, a new Department for Health Policy, the new Stanford Cancer Center, expanded state of the art research facilities that bring togeether basic science, translational medicine and clinical care, as well as other Stanford Medicine fundraising priorities. Within this framework, we seek experienced candidates for a Senior Associate Director of Development to join the MCD Principal Gifts team. This position will play a fundamental role in securing lead philanthropy in support of these priorities. The position requires deep fundraising experience, sensitivity, diplomacy, discretion, professional judgement, as well as the ability to operate independently while representing Stanford Medicine. If you have the leadership and strategic skills to balance prospect identification and solicitation, build donor-centric and meaningful relationships, and partner effectively with academic leadership, faculty, senior staff, and fellow MCD and university development colleagues, then this position is for you. This position reports to the Senior Director of Principal Gifts, Medical Center Development. Job Purpose: The Senior Associate Director will directly manage a portfolio of approximately 50-75 individuals, families, and family foundations with the philanthropic capacity to make a gift of $10M+ for Stanford Medicine's highest priorities. This individual will engage with a multitude of individuals to include faculty, university officers and staff, volunteers, alumni, friends, philanthropic advisors, and foundation representatives, and others outside Stanford during the course of their fundraising work.
