Our firm has a new opportunity available for a Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer who will be responsible for furthering the firm’s strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The CDIO will work closely with firm leadership to develop and implement programs and initiatives to help Venable advance toward its goal of becoming a more diverse and inclusive workplace.

Core responsibilities for this role will include…
•Strategic development of specific and measurable diversity, equity and inclusion goals
•Partnering with stakeholders across the firm to establish and monitor key performance indicators and support the execution of tactics developed to achieve the established goals
•Serving as the firm’s thought leader on diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices
•Collaborating with the firm’s professional development and training department to facilitate professional development plans to support the retention and advancement of the firm’s diverse population
•Partnering with recruiting teams across the firm to strengthen diversity, equity and inclusion hiring initiatives
•Serving as advisor for affinity groups in facilitating the implementation of their programs and goals
•Partnering across the firm to strengthen and promote the firm’s efforts and accomplishments toward creating a more diverse and inclusive community

The new Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer will demonstrate…
•Leadership experience coupled with expertise in coaching and counseling all levels
•Depth of knowledge in diversity, equity and inclusion and the ability to bring forth thought leadership to affect positive change
•Juris Doctor, experience in a legal or professional services organization preferred but not require
•Strength in self-expression and interpersonal presence that communicates confidence with initiative and proactivity
•Demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships across a matrixed organization with a focus on client service
