DESCRIPTIONBMT Clinical Registry Supervisor - Position involves data collection and reporting to patient care data registries, often national. Implements methods for collecting, analyzing, storing, retrieving and reporting patient medical information and statistics. Data reported in accordance with the requirements of federal, state and local laws and the standards of accrediting and regulatory agencies. Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives. Supervises staff responsible for educating and monitoring clinical staff registry user data collection and storing techniques. Monitors the accuracy and timeliness of registry data input and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Key Responsibilities: - Directly monitors staff to assure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory agencies for a clinical specialty program. Provides updates to Management about compliance status. Monitors methods for collecting, analyzing, storing, retrieving and reporting data to assure it meets accreditation standards. - Implements clinical registry processes in order to meet assigned goals of clinical performance improvement. Analyzes quality data and presents findings, assisting in identifying quality care gaps. Collaborates on strategies to improve clinical quality. Implements action plans. - Implements new quality benchmarks and verifies accurate reporting. Assesses the quality of data reported to the clinical registry. Guides and performs a wide variety of analysis to recommend ways to improve the clinical quality. Based on deep data analysis, develops reports which may be user specific reports and/or global-level on regional or national data. - Oversees the medical registry database through implementing centralized management for patient care data collection, dissemination and reporting. Verifies reporting meets clinical specialty state and national reporting requirements. Implements streamlined systems to avoid duplications. - Acts as advisor to management on ways to disseminate and report data. - Closely reviews medical registry data for accuracy, appropriate coding, content and timeliness of data. Implements and monitors quality control processes in databases. Maintains, updates, and corrects data files and directories. Enforces data field correction for cases with obvious errors in coding. - Assists with administration and management of resources, supervising assigned staff to maintain unit expenses within budget. Coordinates contracts for copier leases, workstation equipment rental, confidential shredding, and IT service requests. - Participates in recruiting and conducts new employee orientation. Recommends changes in staffing and budget to ensure the efficient operation of the Clinical Registry function. Evaluates performance and competency and defines development goals. Serves as a role model for assigned staff. - Trains professionals on new areas of clinical registry practice. Mentors staff in meeting professional goals and developing growth areas. Consults with Clinical Registry leaders on developing strategies for performance improvement. - Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related area; or equivalent combination of experience and training. A minimum of five (5+) or more years of relevant experience including BMT. Experience and proven success in academic knowledge of clinical BMT concepts and understanding of application of principles to a clinical registry.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Five (5+) or more years of relevant experience in BMT.
- Certified Registrar in a clinical program specialty (BMT) preferred.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS- Must pass a background check.
- Must pass physical, drug screen and TB test.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
