Description: The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching graduate level courses, conducting research, student advising, student mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development, conducting scholarly activities and all other activities required for tenure. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, engaging in accreditation procedures, program assessment and service to the Department, College and University as needed. Research by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional organizations and conferences. knowledge and publish findings in professional journals, books, or electronic media. Administrative schools, to develop new programs, and to provide student access to learning opportunities such as internships. and research work. committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues. registration, and placement activities. events. Primary Function of Organizational Unit: The College of Education prepares exemplary educators, counselors and leaders who transform the communities they serve by solving systemic issues that impact students, schools and organizations across North Carolina, the nation and around the world. As such, all departmental studies are grounded in philosophical, theoretical, methodological, and practical foundations that transform learning, practice and professions. Internal job number: 001205 Requirements: Earned doctorate in Educational Leadership, Evidence of effective oral and written communication skills; Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with diverse colleagues, students, administrators, and the public; Demonstrated ability to develop a research agenda in an area relevant to K-12 Educational Leadership; A minimum of three years of successful experience as a school executive ( i.e, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, superintendent or equivalent); NCDPI Standard II Professional Principal Licensure or Principal (K-12) Licensure (or its equivalent; Evidence of effective teaching of graduate students; Experience with reporting formats relative to accreditation, and knowledge of the practical and legal implications of accreditation is required. Preferred: Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the following: (a) research interests in PK-12 educational leadership (b) relevant school administration experience in PK-12, © experience with online instruction, (d) teaching experience in educational leadership programs, (e) expertise in a range of research methods and designs, (f) experience with reporting formats relative to assessment and accreditation of academic programs (g) experience in developing and administering grants, contracts, and other outreach activities.
