Coordinate and direct the development and implementation of a specific 4-H camp program (e.g., sports, expressive arts, environmental science, outdoor education, etc.). Supervise senior and junior camp counselors to effect quality programming in the subject area. Assist with program scheduling and management. Responsible for one evening program. Assist with program and staff evaluation processes.

Program Assessment - 10%
Regularly observe and evaluate program staff, provide constructive feedback, regularly inspect program space and equipment for safe operation.
Program Development - 10%
Research, develop, and prepare educational resources (e.g., goals, lesson plans, skill-building activities, hands-on projects, experiments, etc.) for program staff.
Program Delivery - 5%
Support the following all-camp activities: Turtle Games and Closing Campfire; serve as a member of Turtle games committee; assume primary leadership responsibility for one evening program
Program Evaluation - 5%
Support evaluation processes for program and camper satisfaction.
Prepare final program evaluation reports with future recommendations; prepare year-end program inventory and supply order.
Direction - 5%
Develop staff training activities.
Management - 35%
Lead program staff guidance and communication, including conducting staff meetings, directing staff evaluation processes, implementing performance improvement strategies as needed, recognizing outstanding performance.
Support a community-oriented camp culture that emphasizes acceptance, cooperation, and empathy.
Ensure compliance with all camp policies and procedures that protect camper and staff health and safety.
Ensure program staff maintains high standards of health and safety in all program settings and activities.
Communicate regularly with program staff to proactively identify and address areas of concern regarding health and safety.
Administer the daily program schedule effectively, balance activities and daily routines, ensure adequate staff coverage and adjust for weather-related or other exigencies.
Ensure staff is documenting critical incidents through CIMRs (Concern, Incident, and Medical Report).
Manage post-incidents in consultation with the director workgroup, including resolution with the camper(s) and staff, incident debriefing, and updating policies and procedures resulting from the incident.
Lead problem-solving, and conflict resolution processes effectively address camper and staff concerns, behavioral problems, and personal conflicts.
With other Program Directors and Logistics Coordinator, develop daily and weekly educational and recreational activities that offer variety, balance, and challenge.
Coordination/Operation - 25%
Implement staff training activities during pre-camp orientation.
Inventory program equipment and supplies and prepare program area during pre-camp orientation; order program materials through camp requisition process.
Assist with weekly camper arrival and departure processes, camper orientation, and other functions as needed.
Support evaluation processes for staff performance and youth development outcomes.
Professional Improvement - 5%
Prepare for and actively participate in staff training and meetings.
Participate in staff evaluation processes as instructed.
Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension and perform other duties as assigned.

Be familiar with and strive to follow any applicable federal, state, local regulations, Association health and safety policy/procedure/requirement and standard.
